“Eternity at Midnight” is a peice meant to make the veiwer consider the timelessness and ancient property of the earth. On a clear, full-moon night, I feel as if the moon is shining like a spotlight on me, on the world silently beathing below. The longevity of stone is contrasted with the waving tide of nature, always changing, decaying, and reforming. This contrast is represented by the stone and the grass dieties lying on the ground, holding one another.
