I use figurative oil painting to convey deep personal emotions, such as vulnerability, shame, love, eroticism, rage, and exploration of my identity as an artist. This identity is often at odds with the social constructs of the American midwest, where I reside. Visions of the future and past appear frequently in my work as tools to expand the imagination of the viewer and relate the inner personal world to what is happening outside.
